Gratitude Day 9: My Books

Hello and welcome back to Day 9 of the 30 Days of Gratitude! Today is all about books and which were the most influential and why? When I was younger, I was all about reading, I absolutely loved it and I even got a medal that my school gave out for reading a certain number. As I got older and the reading material got more complex for school assignments, it was harder for me to actually enjoy reading. Let's be honest, most of them do not tend to spark your interest, so as I would read the pages I wouldn't be focusing on what was happening. Recently being unable to work, I've had quite a lot of spare time on my hands and I've picked up reading again which I'm so thankful for!

I love books that are positive and talk about karma etc, so if you've never heard of The Secret, by Rhonda Byrne I would highly suggest it. The book is basically about the laws of attraction and the more that you believe in good things, they will start to happen. I actually might read it again because if you ever need a pick me up, it's a good book to have on hand.

I'm thankful for books that leave an impact on you and you can feel a certain emotion from what's going on in the book. A book called The Lost Boy, by Dave Pelzer is one of those books that I'm talking about. It's about a young boys journey in the foster care system in search of a family to love. You can't help to feel sympathetic for the main character and any child that has to go through that is just horrible, maybe it's the maternal instinct kicking in?

I love a good book no matter what the genre is. I love anything from romance to mystery to a good thriller! One book in particular is one that I really should've read by now  and am quite ashamed that I haven't yet is The Holy Bible. I don't follow a specific religion but I do believe in God and this is one book that I want to read very soon. I love believing in a higher power and there's something very spiritual in that. It's all in what you believe really and it's a shame that there will always be such controversy over religion and what people think is right and wrong. It's really just what you believe, so I'm thankful to ready something that gives me faith.

Thank you for reading why I'm thankful today! I really love finding something to be thankful for everyday because it makes you more appreciate in general. Do you have any books that you have been impacted by? If so, I would love to know which ones so I can look into them more! I'm always searching for new books to read!

Until tomorrow

Ashley
