Hello everyone and welcome to day 5 of the #30bbdaysofgratitude. Today's theme is my family and why I'm grateful for them. Family means a lot to me and without them I wouldn't be the person that I am today! My family is far from perfect, unlike everyone else's family out there. Dysfunctional is probably the best word to describe my family but that's what makes life interesting right? I was lucky enough to grow up with a father and mother, brother and younger half sister. Some people out there are an only child and don't know what it's like to have a sibling to be there to annoy you or share things with, so I'm grateful to have siblings in my life! Even though my parents are divorced, I'm thankful that they both love me and I have seen how not to act in a marriage thanks to them. Divorce can be horrible for children and teens to go through but I think it makes them that much stronger in the end.
To my husband: I'm thankful for you everyday that you've put up with me because it's not easy putting up with a woman! I'm thankful that we are FINALLY able to be together after such a long visa process! I'm so very thankful to be married and to be your wife because everyday is a learning experience for us both!
To my dad: I'm thankful that no matter what you are always there for me whether it's financially or emotionally. You are a strong person who tells it like it is and I appreciate that about you. I'm thankful for a few life lessons that you've taught me: You make your bed, you lay in it!
To my mom: I'm thankful that you are always someone that I can talk to about anything. I'm thankful for the strong woman that you are because no matter what you go through, you always seem to make things work in the end and I think that's where I get it from.
To my brother: I'm thankful to you because you were someone that I looked up to when I was younger. I'm thankful that we were close growing up and I'm happy to have had a big brother to annoy.
To my sister: I'm thankful for you little sis because I had always wished to have a sister when I was growing up, and even though you made a later appearance in life, I got my wish! I'm thankful that we share the same mom that loves us both very much.
As I'm writing this, it's making me emotional. Realizing the things I've been through with my family, both the good and the bad, I love them all very much. Without family, I think it would be a tough life to live and a lonely one! I hope you enjoyed this post, It was nice reminiscing about times with family. I'd like to hear why you are thankful for your family, so drop me a comment down below!
Until tomorrow,
Ashley
This was such a lovely post to read Ashley!! Got me feeling all emotional about my own family; they have always supported me in everything and I wouldn't swap them for the world!
